The Traffic Safety and Specialized Enforcement Section, Impaired Drivers Support Unit will conduct LIDAR training courses for members WHO ARE NOT TRAINED IN LIDAR SPEED MEASURING DEVICE. THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL TRAINING COURSE.

Resources Required
There are sixteen slots available for officers and sergeants that have not been trained in LIDAR. There will be two slots per district and two slots for specialized units. Members are required to request this course through their District Training Coordinator. The District Training Coordinator will then forward the member’s full name, element, and contact number to tsses.adminbox@dc.gov no later than 0800 hours on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. With further regard to this training, please ensure that class participants are registered within ACADIS.

Signup Details
Selected members must be free of all court commitments. Members responding to this training must be in a full duty status and report to training in the uniform of the day.

Members who elect to apply for this training are hereby notified, if selected, they may be required to change their tour of duty (fixed tour) consistent with the operational needs of the training. Any such initial change will not result in penalty pay under Article 24 of the labor agreement. If a selected member is on day off, they will be compensated with overtime pay or compensatory time.
