Full Description
This class is an Electronic Control Device (ECD) Recertification course for members who are certified to carry an ECD by the Department. Pursuant to General Order 901.13 (Electronic Control
Devices) members of the Department are required to be recertified on their Electronic Control Device every 12 months. Accordingly, the Metropolitan Police Academy (MPA) will be offering the eight hour Electronic Control Device (ECD) Recertification Class.  The maximum class size per session is 25 members.

Resources Required
All attendees must wear the Class B uniform wearing their external vest carrier and Sam Browne duty belt. Any member not in compliance will be directed to return back to their element and his or her name will be forwarded to his or her Unit Commander through the respective Bureau Chief for an investigation.
Reporting Instructions
Classes promptly begin at 0630 hours at the Tactical Training Center (TTC) located at the MPA.
Signup Details
District training coordinators may assign up to three (3) members per class. Non-district training coordinators shall assign one (1) member per class. Training coordinators shall register/schedule members for the class based on the District's or Bureau's operational needs. Any member not properly registered will be sent back to his or her element. Any member who fails to appear on his or her scheduled day or fails to reschedule in ACADIS/LMS prior to the first day of class, absent exigent circumstances, will be recorded as a no-show and his or her name will be forwarded to his or her Unit Commander through the respective Bureau Chief for an investigation. Any member in need of emergency leave on the day of scheduled training shall contact his/her element official for approval. Members shall notify the MPA by phone, (202) 645-6669, or by email, mpa.adminbox@dc.gov, stating the nature of the emergency and provide the name of the approving official.
