Full Description
Phase I 2025 Pistol Re-Qualifications will begin on Monday, January 27, 2025, and end at both locations on Monday June 30, 2025.

Training will take place Monday through Friday @ 0630 hours.  

FLETC REQUIRES 7 DAY PRE-REGISTRATION

Members are encouraged to register early in the Phase to avoid unforeseen events that may interfere with completing this mandatory training (i.e. scheduling changes, change in duty status, military deployment, etc.)

At the conclusion of firearms training, applicable members will be directed and required to respond back to, or be guided by, their elements.  Any member who wishes to qualify with an authorized off-duty weapon is encouraged to bring a copy of the APPROVED PD 219 (Application for Firearms Registration Certificate), with the MPD seal affixed to a range official prior to qualification with the weapon.

Members in need of emergency leave the day of scheduled training shall notify his/her element official, training coordinator and the Academy via email at mpa.adminbox@dc.gov, and include the official notified.  Members may also call (202) 645-6609, if they are unable to email the Academy due to their emergency leave circumstance.

Resources Required
Members must bring their issued service pistol, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) authorized holster, three (3) magazines, and flashlight. Members must be in full uniform of the day including external ballistic vest with the exception of Detectives and VCSD members working in plain clothes. Members should also be in compliance with G.O. 110.11 Uniform and Equipment, and Appearance Standards.

Unit Commanders shall be responsible for selecting their respective members. Training Coordinators shall schedule members for the class based on their respective district's or unit's operational needs. Members shall register in ACADIS/LMS at least seven business days prior to the day of class for FLETC and two days for MPA. Any member not properly registered will be sent back to his/her element. Any member who fails to appear on his/her scheduled day or fails to reschedule in ACADIS/LMS prior to the first day of class, absent exigent circumstances, will be recorded as a no-show.  

District training coordinators may assign up to four (4) members per shift, non-district training coordinators shall assign two (2) members per shift.
